    X-No-Archive: yes

I was wondering if the TP600 series experts (like Captain BillK) can
tell me if it is possible to buy a lower unit 600X (or motherboard
only) and make it work without mods with parts from my 600 or 600e
(assuming that I have active matrix 13.3" display (I know for a fact
that the HPA display uses a different CPU as well as different LCD
    display connectors.

    Thanks.

You can use everything except the memory, unless it's PC100 from your 600E.

You need the entire lower unit from a
600X and not just the mainboard. The
600X has three audio ports (as opposed
to two on the 600/600E) and has a mini
    PCI modem.
