Thinkpad won't boot unless battery is 100%

Discussion in 'IBM Thinkpad' started by Michael Balle, Nov 26, 2006.

  1. My IBM R51 Thinkpad is on its second battery. If I try to start the machine
while the battery is less than fully charged, it freezes up right before
Windows (XP) loads. Otherwise, it boots quickly with a full charge or on AC
    power.

Can anyone comment on this problem? I'm at the point where I don't trust the
machine to start properly unless it's on AC.

    Thank you,

    Hi,
IMO, something is wrong with your Thinkpad or battery management utility.
