Tyan S2460 and PC3200 DDR-RAM?

Discussion in 'Tyan' started by Herwig Bauernfeind, Mar 14, 2007.

  1. Hi,

    recently I bought a used Tyan S2460.

I understand that it will only run with registered DDR-RAMs.

My question: Do I really have to get PC2100 ones (these are hard to get
these days) or will (underclocked) PC3200 work, too?

    I'd like to get 2x 512MB working...

    Kind regards,
    Herwig

Considering that Crucial only sell 2700+ to work with the s2460 and certify
it with a lifetime warrenty, I think it's safe to work on the theory that
PC3200 will also work, when underclocked. Most memory will work when
    running slower than specified.
