The company that I work for purchased new laptops without RS232 port.
We are using the laptops as PTU’s to troubleshoot logics on
trains for subway. The software provided from the vendors require a
COM port available connection in order to establish communication
between the computer and the logic on the train. The laptops are
running windows XP home edition. I didn’t have problems
installing the testing software on the laptops , but seems like the
software cannot find a com port available. I uploaded the driver for
the USB to RS 232 Converter kit and I’m using a null modem to
    connect to the train logic.
If you had similar problems before or know what is the solution ,
    please write me back.
    Thank you!
