Unable to see the ata drives until nvram is reset

    Motherboard is a Biostar A770E3 hard drive and a dvd burner are both ata. Every now and then it is unable to boot because it can't see the drives. We have to reset the nvram to get it working again. Any ideas on what the problem might be?
