I have no plans on going to a new PC as this one is still working fine.
However there are some things I would like to do to make it work better.

Replacing the 800 MHz AMD Athlon processor (slot). Any ideas of a processor
I could install with minumal trouble? My mother board can go up to a 1 GHz
processor, which leads me to a newer mother board would allow for a faster
processor, but it's not something I need. All I need the faster processor
for is a DVD/CD burner installation.

Your 800 AMD will handle a DVD BURNER
I know that the manufacturer may recommend a faster
    CPU
That is only so they do not get any calls
    Will work OK
