1) Have several USB cables here. Is there a way to find out which is USB 2.0 and which is USB 1.1 capable...??

2) Is there a way to find (measure)) the throughput of the USB I/O connectors (empirically rather than by spec) on the NF7-S ...??

"Generally" ...
the 'larger' dia cable aught to be USB 2.0 ...
generally/typically/weasel_word.

Early-on, cheaper 1.1 cables had less shielding , thinner insul over the indiv conductors ... shielding & inter-conn capacitance became issues , cables got thiicker, as I 'read' .

USB.Org spec ?says? they should be 'equivalent' ...

Me?
I'd go to a local Staples to buy "one" ...
and, like my old Weber Carb RTFM said, ... " ... suck it & see " , return it if it dont work.

One thing for sure ... the friggin connector fitment specs are a mess ...

And ... last but not least ... a "funny" ...
I actually saw a NoName packaged "A" to "A" cable for sale at a flea mkt near Boston a few years ago ... two "A" conns & a pc of plain cable twixt. Doubtful if it would a) last long enuf, and b) make enuf flame to lite one(1) good Camel ciggy.

In summary ...
use of quality USB cables ( 1.1 or 2.0 ) pays off ...
??? Whats "Quality" ???
FIIK.
I depend on the Staples Guru for that 'definition'.

Try a stop watch test with an HD full of bits ... maybe ????

Sorry for the 'vague' ...
a 'Black Art' as far as I can see,
Qed.
