Use Tablet PC Input Panel in other versions of Windows XP

Discussion in 'Tablet PC' started by Roohollah Shafei, Apr 1, 2007.

  1. Hi, Is it possible to use Tablet PC Input Panel in other versions of
Microsoft Windows XP, like Media Center Edition or Professional? I've
installed a 2nd Windows OS on my Tablet PC. But except Pen Digitizer Driver
I am not able to use any other features of Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.

No. The Tablet PC Edition, as with Media Center Edition, with Windows XP is
a "superset" of functionalities for Tablet PCs and UMPCs which runs only on
the designated computers. With Vista, however, the Tablet & Pen functions
are built into the operating system (along with Media Center Edition) so you
can have everything when the proper hardware is available. Vista senses the
hardware during installation and enables extra items (like Ink).
