Hi all,
I've got a VP6 that I'm trying to revive after a harddrive failure. I bought a Maxtor 120 Gig drive which the BIOS seems to find no problem, and the RedHat Linux 9.0 install seems to find and use no problem. However, when I go to boot from the hard drive, nothing at all. The BIOS gets to the point where it would normally boot from the drive and nothing, no lights, no messages, just hangs there.
What I'm wondering his this; can I install a PCI IDE controller (like the promise) and use that instead of the built in controllers?
Thanks in advance,
Doug
