what happens to keyboard IRQ if you have PS/2 or USB keyboard?

    old AT keyboards used IRQ1
    but if you have new keyboard, is IRQ1 then wasted?
    most BIOS I know allow disable COM1,COM2,LPT1,PS/2 or USB ports
    but not keyboard

    PS2 Keyboards still use IRQ1.

  3. What about when you are using a USB keyboard and mouse? Do the PS/2
    keyboard and/or mouse ports still have to be active (and using IRQ1
    and/or IRQ12)?

    I haven't seen any BIOSes that let you disable the PS/2 ports.
