I went to the local PC Fair last weekend. Lots of vendors selling everything. Many had the Asus A7N8X plain or deluxe, but no one was selling the Abit NF7-S. I asked one vendor and he said the Asus warranty was better. That was hard to believe as a major consideration for anyone. Usually I find that if a board works for more than a week then it keeps working.

I was leaning towards the NF7 over the A7N8X, but not if I can't get one at the fair from a vendor I know.

I was wondering if Abit has a different distribution structure and somehow keeps them out of fairs? Seems an odd way to sell the product. The fair in question was at York College in Jamaica NY and was run by the tri-state fair group.

I don't think that Abit prohibits their motherboards from being sold at various computer shows. I see their boards at the computer shows in the Mid-Atlantic area (Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia).

Most places sell what they can make the most money on (or think they can).

Asus warranty is not as good as Abit -- PLUS you can return your MB directly to Abit if your vendor is nowhere to be found. Asus will not even answer you e-mail

Yea, I didn't fact check it and it sounded weird.

Smaller distribution in the Toronto area than Asus. Infotec is an excellent source for Abit boards, good price and they maintain some inventory.

The warranty statement is bogus, Asus service for their warranty in Toronto area, is poor to say the least. Long delays, miscomunication and they didn't not reply to many emails.

I haven't had any breakdown on my Abit, so I can't speak for that, (but that is a good thing, right?)
