I just recently bought a used SuperMicro tower server with a MNL-1031 motherboard. I need to get the firmware updated to current, however whenever I try to flash it I get a message saying the bios is write protected.

I'll admit I have little experience with SuperMicro equipment and all my searching for how to disable this has come up with nothing.

If anyone has any help they can give on how I can get this firmware flashed I would be eternally grateful.

I burned a USB stick as a bootable dos partition and unzipped the firmware onto it .I can boot off the stick and can see the files, however when I try to execute ami.bat X8DA32.406 I get the write protect message.

    Thanks in advance.
