Maybe someone can help me. All of a sudden, when I turn on my computer or
have to reboot Win XP, sometimes Win XP begins to start and then "like it
doesn't catch" and restarts again and I get the screen that says "Windows
didn't shut down properly... and you get the option to stat Win in safe
mode, safe mode with networking,...start windows normally"

Windows then starts. I have no idea what could cause this error message.

    Do you?

  2. Turn off the automatic reboot (system applet/advanced/startup and recovery)
so you can see what's causing it.
Alternatively, examine the event logs (cpanel - admin tools -event viewer)
    to see what's logged.
