KT7a raid version 1 decided to upgrade from 1 gig athlon to xp2000. Defaulted the bios then set up FSB133 and multiplier of 12 - just to start you understand. Chip is running very cool - about 40 deg C

But I am getting a lot of hangs - especially when on the net!

Any suggestions as to what setup adjustments I could make? Or helpfull websites...

Regards,

Steve

Were you running your 1-ghz cpu at 100 fsb? It could well be that your ram isn't stable at 133. Might try to relax the ram timings in the bios, CAS3, non-interleaved, etc. Also raise the cpu driving strength setting, which made a difference for me.

Check for bulging/leaking capacitors.

Skid,
I think you are on to something. Dropped the fsb to 100 - steady as a rock! Now up to 105 and 12.5 multiplier - still steady. Looking forward to seeing how far I can go then I shall move on to your other suggestions regarding cpu drive strength etc

Regards,

Steve
