XP2500 Barton running on 266 FSB?

    Hi Ben, Wes,
    Looks like you found the correct spec in the end.
    Sis740 and Sis962L
    Supports up to 2Gb of ram, IDE 133, has Qfan technology built in (runs very
    quiet unless you hammer it), really tiny case, compact flash slot, front usb
    and headphones, easy to build, looks good, cheap, made by Asus.
    Has all I need really.

    I will run the Passmark performance test v4.0 when I get the machine up and
    running and post the baseline file it creates so you can compare your
    machine with this one.

    I know it will not be as quick as yours but on most applications there
    should just a fraction of difference, about 4 % if you are running XP2500.

    It's not all about clock speed, I guess you could think of it like this,
    What will run faster.. your athlon XP clock'd to run @ 400mhz or a 400mhz
    pmmx
    Intel has really drove that "clock speed" idea into everyones head and
    that's why amd do the PR junk.
