Hello, I am really hoping that someone can help me with this issue I have been having.
I bought an XPS 420 with Vista about a year ago and was finally fed up using Vista so I decided to downgrade to XP. It was a complete success except for 1 problem, my audio does not seem to be working. Now the windows audio ie: mouse sounds, page loading sounds, basic windows sounds on the desktop etc…. work. I can hear my mouse click but when I load a movie into my dvd player I cannot hear anything at all. I am unable to install the Sigmatel STAC 92xx c-major HD audio driver and get my audio to truly work.
I downloaded all the drivers from en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19242664.aspx including the audio drivers but to no avail.
