I didn't have any issues with screws being too short with the 7000CU on my IC7-G... good that you have had success and are getting better temps.

by the way... please no attachments on this group... text only.

Hmm, do you know if the 7000cu has better performance than the ThermalTake Spark 7?

Cheers,
Vince

no, I do not. look to see if there are any comparisons out on the web. for the P4, the Zalman seems to be the current favorite.

Yeah, I only see reviews on the Zalman and the ThermalTake P4 Spark 7 individually but no comparisons between the two. Zalman does look better for one thing. People are saying that ThermalTake products are usually just good for looks and not good in performance.

I dislike the fans they're using on the Thermaltake stuff these days, having had a volcano 9 on my xp1800+, to get it to run at decent temps, the fan was pretty much full on all the time and it's a really irritating sound. Now running a P4 2.6c with a Zalman 7000cu, temps are low, and the fan, whilst I've got it on full speed all the time, (I don't use the fan speed controller they supply), is virtually inaudible.

Interesting. The only ThermalTake product I've ever used was the GoldenOrb. Here's a new review on the Zalman 7000Cu versus Thermalright SLK-900U which are both considered the best in aircooling currently.

I wonder how hard it is to actually replace the 92mm fan on the Zalman assuming you had a spare 92mm fan somewhere.
