ASUS P5W DH DELUXE RAID and NON-RAID HELP

    Asus P5W DH Deluxe RAID and non-RAID

    I am trying to install 3 WD SATA II drives on this board.

    1 - 250MB - primary boot drive installed on SATA1
    2 - 500MB - RAID 1 - installed on SATA3 and SATA4

    BIOS is 1707.

    In the bios, I set the SATA controller to RAID.
    Went into the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and created a RAID 1 volume on the two 500MB drives.

    When Windows Media Center 2005 is installing, I press F6 to load the RAID driver. (I am using the latest driver from the Intel site). After the selection is made, the install can not find a bootable drive on the system.

    Has anyone else attempted this configuration or had success? Is it not possible to mix RAID and non-RAID drives on the ICH7R controller? If not, should I use the JMircon JMB363 SATA_RAID1 port for the primary boot drive? I read that the performance of the Silicon Image 4723 controller via the EZ_RAID1 and EZ_RAID2 is poor (vs. ICH7R).
