    Hi all...I have a G/B A790 Eagle Ax M/B (Bios F3) with CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 (part number is
CMK32GX5M2E6000Z36) and an I5-14600KF, which all seemed to be working fine with XMP 1.0 activated until a few weeks ago when I started to get some Kernel 41 shutdowns. After a bit of troubleshooting I couldn't really pinpoint a specific issue, so I did a Windows 11 reinstall via Windows Update.

On restarting I got "boot failure" errors, so reset the BIOS to defaults and rebooted. All was well but I was back on stock RAM speed (4800MT/s). I set XMP 1.0 to "on" in the BIOS and re-booted...boot failure!

Rinse and repeat and I was back, but with 4800MT/s. Every time I tried xmp I got the boot error. Every time I disabled it things were fine but with "only" 4800MT/s. Just for a laugh I tried activating EXPO. System booted fine and RAM speed was back at 6000MT/s. An hour of OCCT stability testing later and all is well...stable system, no Kernel 41 errors, good performance, but seemingly using the AMD overclock system on an Intel set-up?

So is this situation typical/to be expected? Should I be installing "fully compatible" RAM and would that get me XMP 3.0 (which both M/B and RAM kits say I should be able to use - the BIOS only gives me XMP 1.0 as an option).

I'm no expert but I am a bit OCD about my PC, so I want it to work as I expect it to and have the best performance I can achieve (for DCS World reasons).
