On my Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite WiFi7 (8900X3D/Zotac 5090/64gb) , which runs perfectly fine using Nvidia's 581.57 drivers, goes completely crazy if I update to any 591.xx drivers, Have tried 591.44/.59/.67 (hotfix). This is using DDU Safe boot to uninstall .57, and both NVCleanstall for a clean install without telemetry or NVapp, or installing the full packages from Nvidia (even tried one direct from Zotac). Reinstall 581.57, all is well again.

Sent Nvidia a log of an Install of 591.67, subsequent failure of several games and apps, then a return to 581.57 for there review. My system is fully up to date using GCC, all chipset drivers new. This is their reply -

"Upon reviewing the system information file, we confirmed that multiple ACPI / system resource devices are disabled, including DMA Controller, HPET (High Precision Event Timer), System Time, SMBus, Motherboard resources.

These are critical for DirectX initialization. When chipset drivers are missing:

PCIe root complex is not fully enumerated
GPU BARs (Base Address Registers) may not map correctly
    Interrupt routing (MSI/MSI-X) may fail
System timers required by D3D9 can be unavailable
DXGI cannot establish a stable graphics adapter interface|

I would recommend you to please contact Gigabyte and get the chipset drivers of motherboard updated
    "

I just did a clean Win11 install, updated all GB drivers, and have the same issue, any ideas?? I've attached a zip with the Debugview log for anyone's examination.

Sounds like 591.xx is tripping over a chipset/ACPI resource issue on that board, not the GPU itself (since 581.57 is fine).

    Quick things to try:

    • update BIOS to the latest, then load optimized defaults

    • install AMD chipset drivers straight from AMD (not just GCC)

    • in Device Manager, re-enable anything disabled under “System devices” (DMA controller, SMBus, etc.)

    • make sure Above 4G Decoding + ReBAR are enabled in BIOS

    • if it still breaks only on 591.xx, just stay on 581.57 for now and wait for a newer driver fix
Most people fix it by BIOS + proper chipset driver reinstall.
