Inspiron 1000 Power issue

I have a dell inspiron 1000 that is completely dead. I have power from the mains transformer and have repaired a dry solder joint on the ac jack (thought this was the original problem) but still dead.

Any ideas will be much aprreciated before I recycle this thing!
