M3A78-CM - Fastest CPU?

I currently have a ASUS M3A78-CM (AM2+) with a Phenon 9600+ cpu. It's a bit dated and time to upgrade to the fastest possible processor available for this board (at this time I can't afford to upgrade to an AM3 board, DDR3's.. one step at a time).

For this MB, what are my choices for fastest processor?
