I have a Gateway E3600/ P4 1.6GHz desktop that was working perfectly.
I lent it to a friend (it was my spare for the grandkids) and when I got it back it was unresponsive. I asked her what happened and she said she downloaded the Verizon security software and the computer just stopped when she installed it.
I've tried to flash the bios as some suggested but I cannot get the floppy to run on the start. The CD flashes and the power supply fan runs normally. The power button is steady amber. It has known good memory. Do any of you have an idea about what I might do? I'd hate to lose this computer.
Thanks
Paul
