power help please

hi all when i shut my pc down the power light on the front stays on so do the number lock key on the keybord it as windos vista 2 gig of ram p4 3 gig cpu motherbord is a msi p4mam-v.can anyone help with this prob i have just noticed that even if i push the power button on the front of the pc to turn it off the power light stays on so do the num lock key on the keybord only had a a few days got off ebay can anyone help please thankyou.
