I'm finding contradictory information about compaq 1681 system boards #332246-001 and #332229-001. Both come from the factory with intel on board. I've got research papers from AMD and Intel that differ about replacement processors. Intel says AMD can't fit in the socket. AMD says it can.

Anyone ever tried to fit AMD K6-2/3 processors in socket 7?
