tyan 2668 upgrading from 2.2 xeons to 3.06

hi

can anyone help i was running dual 2.2 with 2 gig of ram and installed dual 3.06 but on power up i get a siren type sound and the error code on the board says ff which i can't find listed in the manual.

Is a bios update required to run these processors although tyan lists them as compatible

any help greatly appreciated
