upgrading hdd on compaq

hello group can anyone tell me how to make my deskpro ens ff 600 recognize a larger hdd ? i tried to replace the 13gb maxtor with a 80 gb w.d. but it only recognizes 14gb ive tried the compaq site but i didnt really know what i should d/l thx
