So I have a client with a WS C621E Sage Motherboard .. I have not had much experience with these workstation/server boards. It has U.2 slots, which apparently are for NVME drives . The client has a spare Seagate NYTRO 3332 SAS SSD (I assume its not NVME), I tried connecting this with a U.2 to SAS cable but, BIOS and Windows does not recognize it
So my first question is which specific drives are compatible with these U.2 connectors .. The manual states NVME, so I am assuming 2.5" NVME drives with SAS interface? There are only 2 SSD's specified on the ASUS QVL sheet for this motherboard
Some clarity would be appreciated.
To get this SAS drive to work, it seems I need a HBA SAS card, unless I'm mistaken?
